The
Haitian-American community is still waiting for a
response from local and federal authorities about
allegations that Boston Police Officer Lesly Orne
held a meeting with the leaders of a radical group
at his home in Randolph, MA, just a few hours
before these militants aired an intimidating
message from a Haiti based terrorist group. The
message contained a detailed plan to kidnap and
kill several US citizens including community
leaders, small business owners and Haitian radio
personalities.
This
small terrorist clan known as “Les grands 22”
is located in Haiti and has operatives in many
U.S. states according to members living in Boston.
The group specializes in kidnappings and
politically motivated assassinations.
During
the two-hour broadcasting, the messengers bragged
about their connection with Lesly Orne, an active
police officer working at the Boston Police Hackney Carriage Unit. They also talked
about their
technology efficiency and their capability to
hijack flights from the U.S. to Haiti and kidnap
the passengers. One of the messengers, who
identified himself as Jodel Youte, alleged that
they have operatives at Haiti’s International
Airport who are informing them upon the arrival of
any valuable target. After playing the tape, other
radical militants residing in Massachusetts have
expressed support to the terrorist group.
Another
radical militant alleged that they had a meeting
earlier that evening in Randolph at the residence
of Boston Police Officer Lesly Orne who expressed
solidarity to their movement. Noting that in
previous shows, the militants have called officer
Lesly Orne their commander.
This
terror organization is involved in drug smuggling
and at least one of their members was arrested in
Haiti and brought to justice in the US. This
criminal organization is connected with the
political party of former dictator Jean Claude
Duvalier who is now in exile in Paris. There is no
indication that Jean Claude Duvalier himself is
directly involved in the operation of this terror
group.
Over
the past 3 years, Haitian-American families paid
nearly $25 million in ransom for the release of
their love ones kidnapped in Haiti while on
vacation. Many of them report the crimes to the
authorities; others are scared and the crime goes
unreported.
Terror
against Americans has become the biggest industry
in Haiti and they target business owners and hard
working Haitian-Americans who travel to the
islands to spend their vacation in their hometown.
How
does the kidnapping trade work? According to many
the operatives, most of them taxi drivers in
different U.S. airports, give the clues on who is
coming and who has the possibility to pay a
ransom. They use cell phones with cameras to make
the picture of their target and send it to the
terror group. Once the traveler arrives in Haiti,
he or she is kidnapped. Then the operatives in the
U.S. call the parents or family members to
negotiate their release. There are financial
agencies in Haiti that give loans to pay the
abductors.
The
community is expecting the local and federal
authorities to investigate these allegations and
to take appropriate actions to avoid the spreading
of violence against Americans in Haiti as well as
at home.
The
audiotape of the terror message aired on WUNR1600
from Boston MA, is available upon request.
